I’m building an Android application that gives equal weight to fast, accurate order taking and reliable billing. On the front end I want a single, intuitive workflow: staff select items, totals calculate instantly, and a receipt can be issued or saved without bouncing between screens.
Two user roles are essential from day one—Admin and Employee. Admin must be able to manage the entire catalogue, set prices or taxes, view every transaction in real time and pull daily reports. Employees only need the streamlined order-entry and payment screen plus a read-only view of their own sales history. If you can keep the architecture flexible enough to add a Cashier or Customer role later, that’s a bonus.
Authentication should be simple and secure with email-and-password login. No biometric sign-in is required for the first release, so the UI can stay lean.
I’m happy for you to use Android Studio with either Kotlin or Java, and a local SQLite database is fine for offline scenarios, though cloud sync through Firebase (or a comparable backend you prefer) would be helpful for multi-device access.
Deliverables I’ll review for acceptance:
• APK for test install
• Complete, well-commented source code
• Brief setup document covering build steps and any backend configuration
