Carpooling App for iOS & Android
Summary
Freelancer Client is hiring: Carpooling App for iOS & Android.
Location: Remote
I’m building a cross-platform mobile app whose main value is productivity through smarter commuting. The core of the product is a ride-sharing experience built specifically for carpooling. I need an experienced mobile developer (or small team) to take the idea from wireframes to a polished release on both the Apple App Store and Google Play.
What you'll do:
• Simple scheduling screens—think quick “create a ride” or “join a ride” actions that feel like a productivity tool rather than a taxi meter.
• A lightweight admin panel for approving new drivers, reviewing reports, and exporting basic usage stats.
• Carpool requests and offers can be created, matched, and confirmed without crashes on current iOS and Android versions.
Skills: Mobile App Development, iPhone, Android, Objective C, Kotlin, iOS Development, React Native, Flutter
Budget: $12500–$37500 USD

Original
I’m building a cross-platform mobile app whose main value is productivity through smarter commuting. The core of the product is a ride-sharing experience built specifically for carpooling. I need an experienced mobile developer (or small team) to take the idea from wireframes to a polished release on both the Apple App Store and Google Play.
Here’s what I already know I want:
• A clean, intuitive flow that lets users either offer or request a ride, match them in real time, and confirm seats.
• Live GPS tracking so riders can follow the driver’s route and ETA.
• Simple scheduling screens—think quick “create a ride” or “join a ride” actions that feel like a productivity tool rather than a taxi meter.
• Secure sign-up and in-app messaging to keep all coordination inside the platform.
• A lightweight admin panel for approving new drivers, reviewing reports, and exporting basic usage stats.
Deliverables
1. Working iOS (.ipa/TestFlight) and Android (.aab) builds.
2. Full, well-commented source code in Git.
3. A brief setup and deployment guide so I can reproduce the build and release process.
Acceptance Criteria
• Carpool requests and offers can be created, matched, and confirmed without crashes on current iOS and Android versions.
• Real-time location updates refresh smoothly under typical 4G conditions.
• All personal data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored securely (no hard-coded keys).
Tech stack is flexible: Flutter, React Native, or fully native Swift + Kotlin are all fine as long as you can meet the performance and UX goals above.
If this sounds like a challenge you’re ready to take on, let’s talk timelines and milestones so we can get commuters sharing rides sooner.
