Original
I’m integrating an OpenMV N6 camera into an industrial-automation line where it will handle machine-vision tasks, but before we get to pattern recognition or inspection, I first need the Ethernet shield fully configured so the OpenMV IDE can communicate with the board over the LAN rather than USB.
What I already have
• OpenMV N6 board and official Ethernet shield in hand
• Latest OpenMV IDE installed on a Windows workstation
• Local network with DHCP and static-IP options available
What I need from you
1. Flash or adjust any required firmware so the camera boots with Ethernet enabled.
2. Configure TCP/IP settings (DHCP is fine, static if necessary) and verify the IDE can connect, run scripts, in micro Python and stream frames in real time.
3. Provide a concise, step-by-step guide (screenshots or short video welcome) so I can repeat the setup on additional units without guessing.
4. Troubleshoot any connectivity glitches until ping, telnet, and IDE access are solid.
Acceptance
• IDE detects the N6 over Ethernet immediately after power-up.
• Live frame buffer streams in the IDE at normal FPS with no drops for at least 10 minutes.
• Your documentation lets a technician replicate the process in under 15 minutes.
If you’ve already wrestled with OpenMV networking, this should be straightforward. Let me know your approach and expected turnaround and we can get started.
