Original
We are launching an Electric Vehicle (EV) charging station business and are looking for an experienced full-stack development team or senior developer to build a complete EV Charging Management Ecosystem.
The goal of this project is to build a user-facing mobile app (iOS & Android) and a robust backend Central Management System (CMS) that communicates seamlessly with our hardware chargers.
Our chargers use standard OCPP 1.6J (with plans to migrate to OCPP 2.0.1), and the system must allow users to find, authenticate, activate, and pay for their charging sessions directly through the mobile application.
Core Project Scope & Deliverables:
1. User Mobile App (iOS & Android - Flutter or React Native preferred)
• User Onboarding: Quick signup via phone number (OTP), email, or social login.
• Interactive Map (Google Maps API): Live status of nearby chargers (Available, In-Use, Out of Order), distance, navigation, and filter by connector types (CCS2, Type 2, AC/DC).
• Charger Operations: Ability to scan a QR code on the physical charger to select a gun/connector and start/stop the charging session.
• Live Session Tracking: Real-time dashboard showing charging speed (kW), energy consumed (kWh), elapsed time, and current cost during an active session.
• Payment Gateway Integration: Integration with local payment methods (UPI, credit/debit cards, net banking, and an in-app prepaid wallet system).
• Billing & History: Auto-generation of PDF invoices, charging history logs, and push notifications for session updates (e.g., "Charging Completed", "Battery at 80%").
2. Backend & Central Management System (CMS Dashboard)
• OCPP Gateway: A secure backend server to communicate with chargers via OCPP 1.6J/2.0.1 protocols (managing boot notifications, heartbeats, meter values, and remote start/stop commands).
• Station Management: Admin dashboard to add/remove charging stations, track live telemetry, monitor uptime, and remotely reset hardware.
• Tariff & Pricing Engine: Ability to set dynamic pricing (e.g., peak vs. off-peak hours, pricing per kWh, or flat time-based fees), and configure idle fees.
• User & Analytics Management: Track total revenue, energy dispensed, active users, and export business reports.
Required Technical Stack & Skills:
• Mobile: Flutter / React Native (Cross-platform)
• Backend: Node.js / Python (Django/FastAPI) / Go
• Protocols: Deep knowledge of OCPP 1.6J / 2.0.1 and WebSocket communication is a strict mandatory requirement.
• Database: PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Redis (for real-time tracking).
• Cloud Infrastructure: AWS / Google Cloud / Azure with robust security and scalability.
What We Are Looking For in a Freelancer:
• Prior, proven experience building an EV charging app or working with OCPP protocols. Please attach case studies, Github repos, or screenshots of past EV projects in your proposal.
• A clean UI/UX designer or the ability to work with provided Figma designs.
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to post-launch bug support.
