I already have fully-functioning iOS and Android apps that let family members track each other’s location and start instant live-streaming chats. What I need now is a focused update that makes the experience smoother and faster on both platforms.
First, the interface: the current navigation has grown cluttered, so I’d like a cleaner, more intuitive flow between home, map, and call screens. Alongside that, all icons and in-app images should be refreshed to match our new brand palette (assets will be provided).
Second, performance: cold-start time must drop noticeably, in-app transitions should feel snappier, and background streaming needs to consume less battery. I’m also seeing sporadic crash reports from TestFlight and Google Play Console that I want brought down to near-zero.
You’re free to work in native Swift/Objective-C and Kotlin/Java or a shared layer such as Flutter/React Native—whichever lets you hit these goals without rewriting the whole codebase. Instrumentation with Firebase Crashlytics or a similar tool is expected so we can verify improvements.
Acceptance will be based on:
• Average launch time under two seconds on mid-range devices
• Crash-free rate ≥ 99 % over one week of beta testing
• At least 15 % less battery drain during a 30-minute continuous streaming session
• Updated icons and navigation live in both App Store & Play builds
Source code, build instructions, and signed store-ready packages for the two platforms complete the deliverable set.
