Samar collar for dog

Краткое

Freelancer Client is hiring: Samar collar for dog.

Location: Remote

I am looking for a skilled mechanical engineer or product designer to develop a fully functional locking mechanism for a dog collar connector (male and female parts). This is not just a visual 3D modeling task. I need a real, working mechanical system with proper internal logic and engineering.

Requirements:

• One-button control for both locking and unlocking

• Smooth, reliable mechanical movement

• Strong locking force suitable for medium to large dogs (approximately 20–40 kg pulling force)

• Precise fit between male and female parts (tight but not causing friction issues)

• Compact and premium design (not bulky or oversized)

• Pin should be relatively thin and precise, not large or protruding unnecessarily

• Internal mechanism must be properly engineered (not a simple friction or placeholder solution)

• Two magnets in the male part and two in the female part

Skills: CAD/CAM, Solidworks, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Design, Product Design, 3D Modelling, Engineering Drawing, 3D Printing, Prototyping, Mechanical Design

Budget: $10–$30 USD

I am looking for a skilled mechanical engineer or product designer to develop a fully functional locking mechanism for a dog collar connector (male and female parts). This is not just a visual 3D modeling task. I need a real, working mechanical system with proper internal logic and engineering.

Project overview:
The product is a compact, premium connector for a dog collar that allows easy one-hand operation. It consists of two parts (male and female) that connect באמצעות מנגנון נעילה פנימי חכם.

Core functionality:
The system must include a spring-loaded pin inside the male part and an internal locking mechanism inside the female part. The connection should be assisted by magnets, but the magnets are strictly for alignment only and must not play any role in locking.

How the mechanism should work:
When the user brings the two parts close together, magnets (two in each part, aligned top and bottom) help position them correctly.
Once aligned, the user presses a single button.
This action pushes a spring-loaded pin from the male part into the female part.

When the pin reaches the end inside the female part, an internal locking mechanism must automatically engage and securely lock the pin in place. After locking, the two parts must not be able to separate under pulling force.

To release the connection, the user presses the same button again.
This second press must:

1. Release the internal locking mechanism inside the female part
2. At the same time retract the pin fully back into the male housing

After that, the two parts can be separated easily with one hand. The pin must not remain exposed after release.

Technical requirements:

* One-button control for both locking and unlocking
* Smooth, reliable mechanical movement
* Strong locking force suitable for medium to large dogs (approximately 20–40 kg pulling force)
* Precise fit between male and female parts (tight but not causing friction issues)
* Compact and premium design (not bulky or oversized)
* Pin should be relatively thin and precise, not large or protruding unnecessarily
* Internal mechanism must be properly engineered (not a simple friction or placeholder solution)

Magnets:

* Two magnets in the male part and two in the female part
* Positioned one above and one below the pin
* Perfect alignment between both sides
* Used only for positioning, not for locking

Size constraints:

* Width: approximately 25–35 mm
* Length: approximately 15–25 mm
* Maximum thickness: around 8–12 mm
* Overall design should remain slim and comfortable for a collar

Materials (for future production):

* Outer housing: durable plastic (such as ABS or Nylon, suitable for injection molding)
* Pin: metal (preferably stainless steel)
* Spring: metal
* Internal locking components: strong plastic or metal depending on design

Manufacturing approach:
The first version will be prototyped using 3D printing.
However, the design must already consider future mass production using injection molding, including tolerances and assembly logic.

Deliverables:

* Full mechanical design (male and female parts)
* All internal components
* Functional assembly
* Exploded view
* STEP and STL files ready for prototyping
* Clear engineering logic behind the mechanism

Important:
This project requires real mechanical thinking and problem-solving. I am not looking for a simple visual model or copied design. The internal mechanism must be properly designed, reliable, and functional.

Please share examples of similar mechanical or locking systems you have designed.
