Freelancer Client is hiring: Lightweight 50K-lb Plastic Dunnage CAD.

Location: Remote

I need a complete CAD model for a plastic beam that will replace traditional wood dunnage. The section must stay close to 3 inches wide and between 15 and 20 inches long, yet safely carry a static stack of steel beams and tubes weighing at least 50,000 lb. Polyethylene is the specified material, and the finished piece itself should weigh under 10 lb so we keep handling effortless.

Requirements:

• Native CAD file (SolidWorks, Fusion 360 or Inventor) plus neutral STEP.

• 2-D manufacturing drawing with critical dimensions and tolerances.

• FEA report summarising boundary conditions, material data for polyethylene, stress/deflection plots and safety factor.

• I will review the model against these files; approval comes once the analysis confirms the 50 kips rating and dimensions stay inside the stated envelope.

I already have rough sketches of the footprint but no 3-D file, so you will start the geometry from scratch, optimise the internal structure, and show via finite-element analysis that the design meets the load with a sensible factor of safety. Feel free to explore ribs, honeycomb cores or any other geometry that balances strength and lightness, as long as standard injection-moulding or extrusion is still realistic.
