Original

I am putting together a purpose-built recreational drone and need help turning my ideas into a fully engineered, IoT-ready craft. The finished model must combine an aerodynamic silhouette and lightweight materials with three core capabilities: a high-definition camera, GPS navigation, and reliable autopilot.

Here is the scope I have in mind:

• Mechanical & aesthetic design
‑ Produce a complete CAD assembly showing all structural parts, fasteners, and mounting points.
‑ Optimise the frame for minimal drag and weight without sacrificing strength.

• Electronics & IoT integration
‑ Select off-the-shelf components (flight controller, GPS, camera, ESCs, battery) that meet hobby-grade performance targets.
‑ Lay out wiring and provide a schematic so the camera feed, telemetry, and autopilot data can be exposed over Wi-Fi/BLE for mobile-app control or future cloud logging.

• Firmware / flight stack
‑ Configure and tune open-source autopilot software so the drone can hold position, follow waypoints, and execute failsafe routines.

• Deliverables & acceptance
1. Native CAD files (STEP and STL) ready for 3-D printing/CNC.
2. Bill of materials with supplier links and weight estimates.
3. Wiring diagram and basic assembly manual.
4. Parameter files or scripts that load the autopilot settings used during bench tests.
5. Brief video or screenshot set demonstrating stable hover and guided flight in a simulator or on the bench.

If you have a track record of bringing small UAVs from concept to air-worthy prototype and are comfortable iterating quickly, I’d love to collaborate and get this drone airborne.
