7-Page High-Quality Comic Art Needed
Summary
Freelancer Client is hiring: 7-Page High-Quality Comic Art Needed.
Location: Remote
A client is currently seeking a professional comic artist for a 7-page comic project. Due to the overwhelming workload currently being handled by our company and our in-house artists, the client is looking to bring in an outside artist for this project. Our company will be assisting with the selection process.
The artwork may be fully digital, which is completely fine. Traditional pen-and-pencil artwork is not required, as long as the final pages are professionally illustrated, colored, and completed at a high-quality standard.
Project materials have already been prepared, including panel breakdowns, character references, and additional visual notes to help guide the overall look, tone, scenery, and character design of the comic.
Some of the sample images and comic strip concepts were AI-generated strictly for idea and placeholder purposes. They are being used only to communicate the desired visual direction, including character designs, environments, scenery, and scene composition. The overall look and feel of those references reflects the type of style and presentation the client is seeking.
The closest visual and tonal comparisons would be "Dororo", "Castlevania", "Attack on Titan", and "Vinland Saga". The client is looking for a dark, cinematic, action-driven style with strong character emotion, dramatic atmosphere, detailed environments, and intense visual storytelling.
Skills: Graphic Design, Illustrator, Illustration, Caricature & Cartoons, Concept Art, Digital Art
Budget: $300–$500 USD

To be completely clear: this project is not seeking an AI artist, and AI-generated final artwork will not be accepted. The client is specifically looking for a real human comic artist with strong illustration, visual storytelling, character work, and sequential page layout skills who can create original, hand-crafted black-and-white comic pages based on the provided breakdowns and references.
An colorist is already being considered for the project, so the selected artist will not be required to provide final colouring. The focus is on strong black-and-white artwork, clean composition, expressive characters, detailed environments, and cinematic panel-to-panel storytelling that matches the tone and visual direction of the project. There may also be an opportunity to discuss a partnership arrangement connected to the comic’s release. One possible structure being considered is a percentage split, with 30% for the artist, 30% for the client, and 30% for the colorist, based on the work and creative contributions involved. Final terms would be discussed directly with the selected artist.
Please note that an NDA must be signed before any detailed information, materials, or story content related to the comic is shared.
Interested artists should provide samples of previous comic work, sequential pages, character art, and any relevant rates or partnership expectations.
(PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT A DECISION WILL NOT BE MADE UNTIL JUNE21ST.)
