Google Ads Manager Needed — NYC/NJ Moving Company (Rebuild + Ongoing Management)

Looking for an experienced Google Ads freelancer to take over and rebuild a Google Ads account for an established NYC-area moving company. Monthly ad spend $1,500 to start, with room to scale if performance is there. Transitioning away from an agency that hasn't been delivering.

---

About the account:

- Established account, currently managed by an agency I'm moving on from
- 24 campaigns built up over time, most paused — needs major cleanup
- 7,900+ negative keywords accumulated, needs audit
- Conversion tracking is unclear and almost certainly broken
- Last 30 days: 1 conversion at $481 cost per conversion — not good
- ~93% of search spend over the last 90 days went to brand searches (people typing 'maxi moving' — they would have found us anyway). Very little real new-customer acquisition happening.

---

About the business:

- NYC-based moving company serving the metro area
- Using SmartMoving as our CRM
- Want to shift focus from generic NYC apartment moves (low margin, brutal competition) toward higher-value house moves in affluent suburbs (northern NJ, Westchester, Nassau)
- I run the business and I'm hands-on. I want a partner who tells me the truth.

---

What I need:

1. Full account audit and cleanup — delete junk campaigns, clean up the 7,900 negatives, archive what's not being used, document what's left

2. Conversion tracking rebuild — set up CallRail integration for proper call tracking and source attribution. Replace vague 'Contacts' conversions with real lead/call tracking. Calls over 60 seconds count as conversions. Integrate with Google Ads.

3. New campaign structure built from scratch:
- Brand defense campaign (small budget, just to protect against competitor bidding on our name)
- High-intent local search campaign targeting affluent suburbs
- Local Services Ads (LSA) — set up and manage if not already running
- No Performance Max, no Display, no Smart campaigns

4. High-value ZIP research — deliver a tiered list of 20–40 ZIP codes across northern NJ, Westchester, Nassau, and selected NYC neighborhoods based on home values, household income, and service profitability. Include exclusion list for low-value areas. Tiered bidding strategy (bid higher in tier 1).

5. Landing page strategy and spec (not build) — identify which landing pages should exist (e.g., Short Hills movers page, Westchester house movers page, long-distance page), provide copy outline and conversion form spec for each. We'll handle the actual build separately.

6. Google Business Profile audit & optimization recommendations — flag what's missing or weak

7. Competitor research and Auction Insights monitoring — who's bidding against us, what their offers look like, who's bidding on our brand name

8. Monthly written reporting tied to actual booked jobs from SmartMoving — not just Google's 'conversions.' I want to see: spend, leads, booked jobs, cost-per-booked-job, what was done that month, what worked, what didn't, what's planned next.

---

Out of scope (please don't pitch me on these):

- Website build or redesign
- SEO work
- Meta/Facebook ads
- Content writing or blog posts
- CRM setup

If you want to mention you do these things too, fine — but please don't try to package them into this engagement. I'll hire separately for those if/when I need them.

---

Requirements:

- Minimum 5 years Google Ads experience
- Verifiable experience with local service businesses (movers, plumbers, HVAC, contractors, cleaners, etc. — moving industry strongly preferred)
- Google Ads certification, current
- Experience setting up and managing Local Services Ads (LSA)
- Familiar with CallRail or similar call tracking
- Strong English communication, available during US business hours for occasional calls
- References from at least 2 current/past clients

---

About working together:

- Flat monthly management fee preferred over % of ad spend
- Month-to-month, no long-term contract
- I respond fast to messages and expect the same — within one business day at minimum
- I'll give you full account access, ownership of our data, and the answers you need to do the job well
- In return, I need clear communication, honest reporting, and someone who'll tell me when something isn't working instead of hiding it

---

To apply, please answer these in your proposal:

1. What's your monthly management fee for an account of this size? Any one-time setup fee for the audit and rebuild work?

2. Have you worked with moving companies before? If yes, what were the results — cost per booked job, monthly job volume, anything specific you can share?

3. Given the situation above (1 conversion last month, mostly brand spend, account is a mess), what would your first 30 days look like? Walk me through your approach.

4. What's realistic to expect in booked jobs per month at $1,000–1,500 ad spend in the NYC metro for a moving company targeting house moves in affluent suburbs? Honest answer — I'm not looking for inflated promises.

5. Are you familiar with CallRail. If yes, have you integrated them with Google Ads before?

6. How do you handle landing page strategy? Do you build pages yourself, provide specs for someone else to build, or work with a specific tool?

---

A note on AI proposals: I'll be reading these carefully. Generic AI-written proposals that don't directly answer the six questions above will be ignored. Tell me about your actual experience with real numbers and real clients.

Looking to hire within 2 weeks. Happy to do a 15-minute video call with finalists.
