Cartoon 2D Storytelling Animator
Summary
Freelancer Client is hiring: Cartoon 2D Storytelling Animator.
Location: Remote
I am about to start a fast-growing YouTube channel built around narrative episodes that rely on lively, light-hearted 2D visuals. Each script is about 14-18 minutes, with voice-over, and needs to be transformed into a fun, cartoonish animation that keeps viewers hooked until the final frame.
Here’s the flow I have in mind: once you receive the script , you create rough storyboards, move to clean character animation with expressive lip-sync, add simple but colourful backgrounds, sprinkle in a few sound cues, and deliver the final render. I’m after that classic Saturday-morning-cartoon energy rather than a hyper-realistic or anime-inspired look.
Full-HD (1920×1080) MP4 of the finished episode
Layered project file (Toon Boom, Adobe Animate, Moho, or your tool of choice)
Separate transparent PNG/PSD character assets for future tweaks
Skills: Animation, Illustration, After Effects, 3D Animation, 2D Animation, 2D Animation Explainer Video, Toon Boom, Adobe Animate
Budget: $12500–$37500 USD

Turnaround of about two weeks per episode would be ideal, and we’ll start with a paid pilot to make sure our styles click. If all goes well, there’s a steady stream of episodes ahead.
When you reply, please link to storytelling work you’ve done in a similar cartoonish style and outline your typical workflow. Let’s bring these stories to life together!
