Original

I’m putting together a data-driven journalistic article focused on mental health issues and I want every claim backed by solid, verifiable evidence. The story will weave together two strands of information:

• Recent news-based facts: up-to-date reporting from reputable national and regional outlets, clearly traced to original publication dates and URLs.
• NCRB data: the latest publicly available tables (suicide statistics, offences under the Mental Healthcare Act, etc.) extracted, cleaned, and presented so trends can be understood at a glance.

What I need from you is a research package that includes:

1. A concise methodology note explaining your search strategy, source-credibility filters, and fact-checking steps.
2. An organised spreadsheet (or CSV) of the raw NCRB figures you pull, with original table references.
3. A short briefing document that summarises the key findings, highlights notable correlations or anomalies, and flags any data gaps that deserve further inquiry.
4. A reference list in APA style for every news item and dataset cited.

Accuracy is paramount; every number must be traceable, and every quotation must link back to its source. Please keep your language objective, and avoid editorialising—I’ll handle the narrative voice once the data is secure.

When you respond, outline the tools you plan to use (e.g., Factiva, LexisNexis, R/Python for data cleaning, Excel, Google Sheets) and briefly describe how you’ll cross-verify NCRB figures against open-government releases. A realistic time line and any assumptions will help me weigh your approach.

I’m ready to start as soon as I select the right methodology.
