The job is to prepare a complete, construction-ready grading design for a new gravel road that will run from the town limits down to the riverbank. I already know the surface will be gravel, so the focus is on a grading plan that minimises environmental impact while ensuring reliable year-round access for light trucks and local traffic.
I need the final package to be well structured and richly illustrated so the field crew can follow it without guessing. Typical civil templates are fine, but every drawing must be clear, labelled, and to scale. Please incorporate best-practice drainage, crown and shoulder specifications suitable for gravel, and note any culvert locations you feel are essential to control runoff into the river.
Deliverables
• Scaled alignment and profile drawings (PDF + editable CAD)
• Typical cross-sections showing layer depths and side-slopes
• Drainage layout with culvert sizing and positions
• Written construction notes highlighting materials, compaction criteria, and environmental protection measures
• A brief summary explaining how the design limits erosion and protects adjacent habitats
I’ll review against local standards and sustainability guidelines, so accuracy and practicality are critical. If you have questions about terrain data or need additional survey points, let me know early so I can supply them.
