I’m running QuickBooks Pro 2021 for one of my clients and have hit a roadblock: the program’s built-in email engine won’t negotiate modern SSL/TLS certificates, so attempts to connect a Google Workspace (Gmail) mailbox fail. Upgrading to a newer QuickBooks release isn’t feasible for the client, so I’d like to bridge the gap with a reliable third-party solution instead.
A plugin, middleware utility, or other security-focused workaround that adds current TLS 1.2+ support and lets QuickBooks send emails through our Gmail account.
Recommendations on the best tool to use—commercial or open-source—as I don’t have one in mind.
Complete configuration on a Windows 10 workstation running QB 2021, including any OAuth or app-password steps required by Google.
A brief hand-off note so I can replicate the setup on a second machine if needed.
