CAD Models for Custom 3D Chains

Summary

Freelancer Client is hiring: CAD Models for Custom 3D Chains.

Location: Remote

I am developing a line of custom 3-D-printed chains, each featuring a large, modern-and-sleek pendant intended strictly for decorative use. Before I reveal the concept sketches, dimensions, or branding details, I’ll need the awarded freelancer to sign both a standard NDA and a non-compete agreement; once that paperwork is in place I can share the full brief.

The core task is to translate my rough hand sketches and reference photos into precise, production-ready CAD. I’ll rely on you to model every chain link for reliable printability, integrate the pendant so it hangs naturally, and generate clear 2-D drawings that call out critical tolerances. Preferred file formats are STEP for further editing and STL for direct printing, but let me know if you also work in Fusion 360, SolidWorks, or Rhino—flexibility here is a plus.

Because these chains serve a purely decorative purpose, surface aesthetics matter as much as geometry. I’ll want guidance on wall thickness, filleting, and any lightweighting strategies that won’t compromise strength. If you can run basic FDM or resin print checks on your side, even better; it will shorten our iteration cycle.

Editable CAD model of the full chain with pendant (STEP + native file)

High-resolution STL ready for slicing

Skills: CAD/CAM, 3D Rendering, 3D Modelling, 3D Animation, 3D Design, 3D Printing, Fusion 360, 3D CAD

Budget: $30–$250 USD

Deliverables (post-NDA)
• Editable CAD model of the full chain with pendant (STEP + native file)
• High-resolution STL ready for slicing
• Dimensioned PDF drawing with key tolerances and assembly notes
• One round of revisions after test print feedback

Please include a brief note on similar decorative or jewelry work you’ve modeled, along with the software you’ll use. I’m ready to move quickly once the agreements are signed.
