I am looking for a freelance legal counsel to review and validate a contractual framework for a Dubai-based gallery operating in collectible design / contemporary design across B2C and B2B channels.
Ideal profile / required expertise:
Core legal expertise
UAE commercial law / contract law
Experience drafting or reviewing commercial agreements in the UAE / GCC
Strong understanding of agency / representation / distribution / sales agreements
Familiarity with UAE VAT, customs, import/export, and cross-border sales considerations
Sector expertise (strong preference)
Experience in one or more of:
Art galleries / collectible design / design industry
Luxury / lifestyle / creative businesses
Interior design / hospitality procurement / custom fabrication
IP, licensing, artist representation, or creative contracts
Scope of work
Initial review of:
Artist representation & sales agreement
B2B / project procurement annex (hospitality / interior design projects)
Potentially website T&Cs / sales terms at a later stage
Looking for:
Pragmatic redline review, not a full rewrite
Validation of UAE enforceability
Review of VAT / import-export / liability implications
Identification of material legal gaps, risks, or operational ambiguities
Recommendations aligned with a digital-first / nomadic gallery model (online platform + fairs + pop-ups + project sales)
