Office Firewall and VPN Setup
Краткое
Freelancer Client is hiring: Office Firewall and VPN Setup.
Location: Remote
I’m starting from scratch—our office network has no firewall at all right now—and I need a dependable professional to put robust protection in place while also giving every device the ability to connect securely through a VPN. The focus is on a straightforward configuration: full, unrestricted access for all authorised devices once they authenticate.
Here’s the environment you’ll be working with: a small LAN of desktop computers and network-enabled printers. Those are the only endpoints that need to ride the VPN tunnel; mobile devices can stay outside the scope. I’m open to either a hardware appliance (e.g., Fortinet, Sophos, Cisco) or a well-supported software firewall such as pfSense or OPNsense, so long as the final setup is stable, easy for me to monitor, and simple for staff to use.
Selecting and installing the firewall solution
Configuring site-to-site or remote-access VPN so computers and printers share full network resources seamlessly
Hardening the firewall with best-practice rules and updates
Skills: System Admin, Computer Security, Cisco, Network Administration, Network Security, VPN, Firewall, Network Monitoring
Budget: $600–$1500 USD

You’ll take the lead on:
• Selecting and installing the firewall solution
• Configuring site-to-site or remote-access VPN so computers and printers share full network resources seamlessly
• Hardening the firewall with best-practice rules and updates
• Documenting every step—IP schemes, admin credentials, and a quick-start guide I can hand to future IT staff
Once everything is live, we’ll run a quick validation to confirm that:
1. Every PC and printer can reach internal shares and the internet through the VPN.
2. No traffic flows outside approved channels when the tunnel is active.
3. The firewall’s management interface is reachable only from an internal admin subnet.
4. Users can access office internal network remotely
If that sounds straightforward for you, let’s lock in a timeline and get our office secured.
