1. Project Overview & ObjectiveBrand Status:
Pre-launch Premium Apparel Startup (Name hidden for Intellectual Property protection).
Niche:
High-end, heritage-inspired athletic apparel (aesthetic alignment: upscale country club, vintage collegiate, luxury athleisure).
Objective:
Translate existing conceptual 3D/AI design mockups into a finalized, technically precise, and production-ready 2D vector asset system.
Manufacturing Intent:
The final vector graphics must be meticulously engineered to accommodate physical apparel manufacturing techniques, specifically high-density direct embroidery, woven patches with merrowed borders, and debossed hardware.
Note on Assets:
Conceptual designs will be shared strictly with shortlisted candidates during the interview phase under a mutual NDA.
2. Core Deliverables Matrix
The selected freelancer will deliver clean, master vector files organized into three distinct modules:
Module A:
Core Brand Identity & TypographyThe Master Crest (Refinement):
Flatten a highly detailed, 6-quadrant 3D rendered conceptual crest into a clean 2D vector artwork file. Clean up internal multi-sport icons (e.g., racquets, clubs, oars) into bold, iconic lines. Eliminate digital gradients; use solid color blocks or strategic line-weight gaps to imply depth.
Main Wordmark:
A standalone, premium serif logotype optimized for primary retail branding and woven main neck labels using our hidden brand name.
Secondary Wordmark:
A variant integrating a secondary location keyword designed for online storefronts and physical signage.
The Master Monogram:
A unique, definitive single-letter cipher derived from the brand identity. This single, definitive architecture will serve as our primary micro-mark (used for cuff embroidery, embossed buttons, zipper pulls, and pocket details) to ensure cross-brand unity.
Module B:
Local Sub-Club Patch System (5 Variants)
Scope:
Build out 5 distinct circular and shield patches based on our layout concepts for specific sporting categories (Athletic, Gridiron, Ice Hockey, Baseball, and Basketball).
Modifications:
Re-engineer the internal graphics of our concepts to meet strict physical textile manufacturing rules while maintaining the established color story and embedding the new master monogram.
3. Absolute Minimum Technical Competency Requirements:
Applicants must possess demonstrable professional experience in apparel-specific vector engineering. General web, logo, or brand graphic designers without factory production experience will not be considered. You must prove competency in:
Textile Geometry Optimization:
Understanding how physical threads pull, bleed, and warp on knit and woven textiles.Embroidery
Structural Layout:
Ability to design vector paths specifically layered for digitizing software (e.g., Wilcom, Tajima) to dictate satin stitches, fill stitches, and 3D foam puff applications.
Pantone Textile Architecture:
Native proficiency in utilizing the Pantone Matching System (PMS) Solid Coated library for industrial color matching.
4. Mandatory Technical Outputs Required
Final delivery must include master files (.AI, .EPS, and .SVG) built to these exact factory parameters:
Strict Line & Space Weights:
Every stroke, line gap, and negative space must be a minimum of 1.0mm to 1.5mm thick at a 3.5-inch application scale. Lines finer than this will cause thread breaks, fabric tearing, or blurred details.
Zero Gradients or 3D Shading:
All assets must be strictly flat 2D vectors. Shading and depth must be implied via line breaks or solid color blocking.
Production-Ready Layering:
Organize all files into clearly labeled, separate layers:
Layer 1: Outer Border / Placement Guide (e.g., 3.5-inch bounding box / merrowed edge template).
Layer 2: Fill Backgrounds / Base Textures.
Layer 3: Main Artwork, Icons, & Typography.Typography Text Traps: All text must be manually tracked and converted to outlines (Cmd+Shift+O / Ctrl+Shift+O).
Kerning and tracking must be wide enough to ensure fabric color bleed does not compromise legibility.
