Consumer Device Double Sided PCB Design
Summary
Freelancer Client is hiring: Consumer Device Double Sided PCB Design.
Location: Remote
I’m a system integrator finalising a new consumer-electronics product and I now need a robust, double-sided PCB designed from the ground up. The schematic is already sketched and all the key components have been chosen, but I need a specialist who can translate that information into production-ready files while observing compact size constraints and good EMC practice.
What you'll do:
• Accuracy of the delivered files against the agreed schematic
• Pass of my quick-turn prototype run without design-related issues
Skills: Electronics, CAD/CAM, Manufacturing, PCB Layout, Circuit Design, Documentation, Embedded Systems
Budget: $1500–$12500 USD

I’m a system integrator finalising a new consumer-electronics product and I now need a robust, double-sided PCB designed from the ground up. The schematic is already sketched and all the key components have been chosen, but I need a specialist who can translate that information into production-ready files while observing compact size constraints and good EMC practice.
Here’s what the assignment covers:
• Schematic capture refinement and verification
• Optimised routing and layer stack-up for a two-layer board
• Generation of fabrication-ready Gerber/ODB++ files, drill files, pick-and-place data, BOM and assembly drawings
• DFM/DFT checks so the board sails through manufacture and testing
I’d also like you to specify any critical design rules you apply (trace widths, clearances, impedance control, etc.) so I can align them with my contract manufacturer before sign-off.
Please send a detailed project proposal outlining your workflow, toolchain (Altium, KiCad, OrCAD, or other), projected timeline and any checkpoints you recommend. If you’ve tackled similarly compact consumer devices, feel free to reference them to illustrate how you approach space-constrained layouts and thermal issues.
Acceptance will be based on:
• Accuracy of the delivered files against the agreed schematic
• Pass of my quick-turn prototype run without design-related issues
• Clarity and completeness of your documentation package
I’m ready to move quickly once I review a strong, well-structured proposal.
