EdTech Platform Technical Lead
Summary
Freelancer Client is hiring: EdTech Platform Technical Lead.
Location: Remote
I’m building a multi-level learning website for students aged 8–20 and I need a hands-on technical lead who can stay online eight hours a day until our first release ships. The stack is fixed: Next.js on the front-end, a Python service layer (Django / FastAPI—your call) on top of MongoDB.
Your first responsibility is to design a workable sprint, break the roadmap into bite-sized tasks, and delegate the simpler items to the junior developers who sit with me onsite. You’ll run daily stand-ups, collect progress updates, jump on screens to unblock them, and make sure the code they push meets our standards before it hits the repo.
Interactive quizzes and tests that adapt to each lesson
Teacher-assigned level progression so educators control what a learner sees next
Role-based access for Students, Teachers, Admins and an additional Parent view we’d like you to spec out
Skills: JavaScript, Python, Django, Software Architecture, Agile Development, MongoDB, Next.js, FastAPI
Budget: $37500–$75000 USD

Core features in scope
• Interactive quizzes and tests that adapt to each lesson
• Teacher-assigned level progression so educators control what a learner sees next
• Role-based access for Students, Teachers, Admins and an additional Parent view we’d like you to spec out
Tooling & workflow
GitHub, Agile boards, CI-based linting/tests and whatever lightweight documentation you prefer; I’m open as long as everyone can follow it.
Done means
1. A signed-off sprint plan with estimates
2. A functional slice covering user registration, role management and the first quiz flow
3. Clean, reviewed code in the main branch and a hand-over note my juniors can keep extending
If you thrive in real-time collaboration and can coach while you code, let’s talk.
