Plastic Vacuum Piston Tube Cap -- 2

Краткое

Freelancer Client is hiring: Plastic Vacuum Piston Tube Cap -- 2.

Location: Remote

I’m developing a universal, plastic cap that slips onto the mouth of most squeeze-tubes and recovers up to 99 % of the product left inside. The design relies on a small piston housed in a vacuum chamber; a fingertip-sized button on top pulls air out, drawing the contents toward the nozzle so virtually nothing is wasted.

What you'll do:

• A low-force button action that reliably creates vacuum without requiring the user to vent the chamber manually.

• Design for injection molding: uniform wall thickness, draft angles, gate/runner suggestions, and minimal part count.

Benefits & perks:

• A snug, leak-free fit on common threaded and snap-on tube necks (diameters will be provided once the core geometry is locked).

Skills: CAD/CAM, Solidworks, Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, 3D Design, Prototyping, Fusion 360, 3D CAD

Budget: $600–$1500 USD

Plastic is the chosen material because it keeps tooling costs down and supports high-volume injection molding, yet still lets us integrate the moving piston, seal, and one-way valve in a single part. I’d like your help turning the concept sketches into production-ready CAD, complete with tolerances, assembly notes, and bill of materials. SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar parametric software is ideal, as I’ll need native files plus STEP/IGES exports for manufacturers.

Key goals
• A snug, leak-free fit on common threaded and snap-on tube necks (diameters will be provided once the core geometry is locked).
• A low-force button action that reliably creates vacuum without requiring the user to vent the chamber manually.
• Design for injection molding: uniform wall thickness, draft angles, gate/runner suggestions, and minimal part count.
• Prototype guidance: recommended resins, seal materials, and any off-the-shelf valve components if they simplify tooling.

Acceptance criteria
1. Complete 3D model pack (native + STEP).
2. Exploded view with BOM and materials call-outs.
3. Basic FEA or hand calculations showing the piston/button will withstand typical finger pressure.
4. Manufacturing notes confirming the part can be molded on standard single-cavity tooling without complex slides.

If you have experience in consumer packaging, vacuum mechanisms, or similar dispensing solutions, let’s talk timelines and iterations so we can push this cap toward pilot production quickly.
