Ship Davit CAD Design

Summary

Freelancer Client is hiring: Ship Davit CAD Design.

Location: Remote

I need a complete CAD design package for a steel davit that will be installed on a ship and used in general marine operations. The scope covers creating a 3D model and fully-detailed 2D fabrication drawings that a workshop can follow without further clarification.

Requirements:

• Material: structural steel throughout, with plate and section sizes chosen for typical shipboard fabrication practices.

• Environment: marine—please build in allowances for corrosion protection and easy maintenance access.

• Deliverables: native CAD files (SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar) plus neutral STEP/IGES exports, detailed 2D drawings showing dimensions, weld symbols, bolt patterns, and a parts list. If you already run quick FEA checks, include the stress plot and assumptions; otherwise just size members to a conservative working load you recommend.

• Format: PDF drawing set ready for class or yard review.

• Prior experience designing shipboard equipment—or familiarity with DNV GL, ABS, or equivalent rules—will help you hit the mark faster, but it is not mandatory if you can justify your sizing method clearly.

• Let me know your preferred software, a short outline of your approach, and an estimated turnaround so we can get started right away.

Skills: CAD/CAM, Solidworks, AutoCAD, 3D Modelling, Engineering Drawing, 2D Drawing, 2D Drafting, 3D CAD

Budget: $12–$30 USD
