What you'll do:
• Clear, commented code so our in-house developers can extend it later.
Requirements:
• Ability to handle multi-step application flows by remembering data between steps.

Every day my team completes the same online application forms across multiple sites, and I want that repetitive work gone. The goal is a lightweight Chrome extension (Manifest V3) that detects an online application form as soon as the page loads, pulls the correct data from a local JSON (or similar configurable store), and inserts each value into its matching field instantly—no clicks, no copy-paste.
Key expectations
• Accurate field matching for common input types (text, email, phone, date, dropdowns).
• A simple options page where we can edit, import or export the profile data that will feed the autofill.
• Ability to handle multi-step application flows by remembering data between steps.
• Runs entirely client-side; no data should leave the browser without explicit consent.
• Clear, commented code so our in-house developers can extend it later.
Acceptance criteria
1. Install the .crx or unpacked build, visit a sample application form we provide, and watch every required field populate correctly.
2. Options page updates should reflect immediately on a page refresh.
3. No console errors or permission warnings in Chrome’s extension panel.
Please build with standard Chrome APIs, vanilla JavaScript (or TypeScript if you prefer), and keep third-party libraries minimal. Once the core logic is in place, feel free to suggest UX improvements or additional settings that could make the tool even smoother for our staff.
