I need a custom section added to my Shopify product pages that shows shoppers a carousel of items they have recently viewed. The section should pull the data dynamically, respect Shopify’s native product information, and render smoothly on both desktop and mobile. Swiping or arrow navigation must be supported, and it has to inherit my theme’s typography and colour palette so it looks native rather than bolted on.
Liquid/JSON template code for the section, plus any supporting JavaScript and CSS.
Configuration settings in the theme editor so I can toggle the section on or off and adjust the maximum number of items shown.
Clean, well-commented code so future theme updates won’t break it.
I’ll consider the task complete once the carousel appears on my product pages, cycles through the recently viewed items without layout shifts, and passes a quick Lighthouse mobile test for performance.
